THE HAYWOODS RETREAT WEDDING WEEKEND
OCTOBER 4th, 2025
BEFORE “I DO”
In the days leading up to Hannah and Blake’s wedding, Montrose became the first stop of an unforgettable mountain getaway. Guests poured out of the airport dressed to impress, laughing with one another, and buzzing with excitement as they began the journey to Ouray. It felt less like arrivals and more like the start of a celebration that would last all week long.
Hannah and Blake reserved the entire Western Hotel and secured room blocks throughout town, creating a week where guests were constantly running into one another well before the celebration began. Ouray transformed into a living, breathing pre wedding party, complete with impromptu cocktail hours, spontaneous gatherings, and coffee shop run ins where guests would smile and ask, “Are you here for Hannah and Blake’s wedding?” The whole week unfolded like a choose your own adventure story, something only this little mountain town could create.
The day before the wedding, Hannah gathered her bridal party for a horseback ride they’ll never forget, taking in the San Juan scenery one last time before the celebration began. Afterward, the girls headed to Mercantile for a custom hat bar experience (an absolute must do in Ouray), creating one of a kind pieces so everyone would look their best for the rest of the weekend.
Meanwhile, Blake and the guys set off on a side by side mountain tour with Colorado West, soaking up adventure and views in true Western Slope fashion. Later that afternoon, Hannah and Blake reconnected for a quiet moment together, sharing drinks with just their parents on the patio at the St. Elmo, a heartfelt thank you and a pause to take it all in before the big day arrived.
Welcome at The Western
That evening, everyone gathered back at the Western for a welcome party that felt like the perfect kickoff to the weekend. Guests donned their new custom hats, crafted cocktails in hand, ready to celebrate Hannah and Blake as laughter filled the space. With fall colors popping all around town and the crisp mountain air setting the mood, it was the kind of night that made you wish weddings lasted forever.

Wedding Day
The celebration carried effortlessly into the next day. Blake spent the morning at the house with his family, soaking in a slow, peaceful start in the mountains, coffee on the porch, laughter in the kitchen, and quiet moments before the excitement ahead. Meanwhile, Hannah got ready at the Western surrounded by her best friends and mom, a morning filled with joy, nerves, and the kind of memories that only happen once. The historic charm of the hotel made for the most beautiful bridal portraits before it was finally time to head up the mountain for their first look.
From there, Hannah made her way up the mountain to the Overlook House, where Blake was waiting for their first look. Tucked away above the valley, the Overlook felt like a private getaway just for the two of them, quiet, peaceful, and surrounded by sweeping San Juan views. When they finally saw each other for the first time, the world seemed to pause for a moment, just the two of them soaking it all in
As Hannah and Blake soaked in their first look, guests began arriving via TelluRides shuttles, winding their way up the mountain to Gold Mountain Ranch. The moment they stepped off, they were greeted by sweeping views and the soft sounds of acoustic music drifting through the ceremony space, instantly setting the tone for something truly special. It felt intimate, intentional, and like the mountains themselves were welcoming everyone in.
After the ceremony, Hannah and Blake soaked in their just married glow as guests made their way into cocktail hour, laughter bubbling up and drinks clinking against the backdrop of the mountains. It was that sweet in between time where everything feels lighter, the nerves are gone, and the celebration truly begins.
As the sun started to dip lower in the sky, the couple snuck away to Gold Point for golden hour photos. Bathed in warm light and endless views of the San Juans, it felt like the mountains were putting on a show just for them. The soft glow, the quiet moments together, and the sweeping scenery created some of the most magical memories of the day.
As the sun set behind the peaks, everyone gathered inside the Wilmont for dinner, where the space glowed with warm candlelight and an intimate, cozy atmosphere. The soft flicker of candles reflected off the windows, creating the perfect contrast to the cool mountain evening outside. It felt romantic, inviting, and effortlessly elegant, the kind of setting where conversations linger, laughter flows, and memories are made around the table.
